Tuesday, Dec. 7: Beginning of Hanukkah
Hanukkah is the Jewish festival beginning on the 25th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev. It lasts eight days and commemorates the victory of the Maccabees over the Syrians in 165 B.C. Focusing on the rededication of light in the Temple at Jerusalem, it is also called the Feast of Lights or Feast of Dedication.
