An informative, energizing speech on the coming retirement crisis
This issue’s Speech Analysis examines a pretty straightforward example of an advocacy speech. The speaker, in this case Allstate CEO Edward Liddy, believes that American savings rates are dangerously low — which most experts agree is the case. His mission: to communicate his sense of urgency to an influential audience of business and civic leaders and motivate them to spread the word and take appropriate action.
